LACC Cohort 13, Ariana Stein, Lil’ Libros received the 2017 NAWBO-LA Entrepreneur Award for creating rapid success in a traditional industry by addressing an underserved market.  Ariana is co-founder, co-author, and CEO of Lil’ Libros, a Los Angeles-based publisher focused on chic and modern bilingual children’s books. She is also the founder of a leading national pet transportation service, 1-800-Pet-Taxi, and a mother of a young son. Ariana began her career in commercial real estate, and then moved on to real estate management. However, this never discouraged her from pursuing her entrepreneurial dreams. In 2014, she partnered with her best friend, Patty Rodriguez, and started a publishing company called Lil’ Libros. The following year, she took the leap of faith and left her corporate business to focus on Lil’ Libros. This allowed her to guide Lil’ Libros during its pioneering stage, while preserving the company’s vision. Lil’ Libros quickly became a cultural phenomenon widely accepted by parents and children. Their books can be found at Target stores nationwide, Barnes & Noble, Scholastic, Meijer, Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles Museum , over 200 independent bookstores, libraries, and schools. In addition, Lil’ Libros has been featured in a number of media publications such as Forbes , The Washington Post , and Money magazine.
